Action of Contrast to Hydraulic Emergency in Local Urban Site (ACHELOUS)

A series of flood events during 2010 and 2012 has showed the necessity to adopt common procedures to improve the management efficiency of hydrogeological and hydraulic emergencies by means of a better territorial organisation. 6 Local Risk Districts (LRD) will be identified, a monitoring system will be developed and representatives will be elected to act as coordinators. Experts from the ''European Civil Protection Training programme'' will be involved, in order to detect the best procedures possible in line with the EU policies and guidelines.

During its 2-year duration, the project endeavours to increase integration and cooperation between territorial entities involved in civil protection activities and educate citizens towards a correct behaviour and a clever use of the available information during emergencies.
