A key element in the accident prevention and reduction of the consequences is to improve learning from accidents and disasters that happened in the past. The project will therefore enhance learning and sharing of lessons learned and will strive to achieve a common understanding of evaluation methods, sharing experiences and knowledge and best practices in Baltic Sea Region (BSR)
The project will involve all relevant actors; make use of the UNEP APELL procedures, together with the safe community and safety performance indicators concepts and existing methodology for assessing the vulnerability of local communities to disasters. It will contribute to implementing the Priority Area Secure of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region Action Plan and the EU Host Nation Support.
