DENIM - DEtection de Nappes IMmergιes

During the last twenty years there have been several spills involving heavy fuel oil in the world including in North-America and Europe. In many of these accidents, part of the heavy fuel has sunk and produced a threat to the environment that has been difficult to evaluate because of the lack of means of detection and monitoring. It is of paramount importance to detect and map these oil patches so as to plan an adequate response such as a recovery operation.
