Youth dialogue on the EU humanitarian assistance with Commissioner Lenarčič

Young professionals met on 15 November Commissioner Lenarčič for an interactive policy dialogue on global humanitarian aid and the adaptation to climate change for the needs of the young generation.

They shared their vision of the world and raised key questions related to humanitarian assistance, the 10% allocation of EU funds to education in emergencies and the further needs to be done to ensure that children are educated after an emergency.

When talking about climate change, young professionals were interested in how the EU is using science to tackle climate change and what the Commission is planning on doing to approach food insecurity in the Global South. The group also showed interest in extra capacity building on emergency response and preparedness.

This policy dialogue took place as part of the European Year of Youth, which aims to engage young people in building a greener, more inclusive, digital future for Europe.

The event was live-streamed and the recording is now available.
