The European Commission and the Swedish Presidency of the Council of the EU will jointly organise the second edition of the European Humanitarian Forum on 20-21 March in Brussels at the EGG conference centre and online.

The event will take place against the backdrop of a sharp increase in humanitarian needs, changing geopolitical realities, and a shrinking humanitarian space.

The conference will start at 9:00 CET on Monday with an opening ceremony and a ministerial session to be co-chaired by Commissioner for Crisis Management, Janez Lenarčič, and Swedish Minister for International Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade, Johan Forssell.

Then, EU High Representative/Vice-President, Josep Borrell, will open a pledging session with EU foreign ministers.

The full programme and registration details are available here.

Commissioner Lenarčič and Swedish Minister for International Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade Johan Forssell will hold a press briefing at 13:00 on Monday, which you can watch live on EbS.

On Tuesday 21 March, Queen Mathilde of Belgium will visit the Forum with Commissioner Lenarčič and Catherine Russell, Director-General of UNICEF.
