Giving birth in a refugee camp during COVID-19

Bangladesh continues to be a safe haven for over 900,000 Rohingya refugees.

Giving birth in times of COVID-19 is risky. It's especially difficult for Rohingya refugee women living in overcrowded camps.

Monowara Begum is one of them. When she found out she was pregnant, she didn't consider giving birth at a hospital.

She was too scared of catching COVID-19. Besides, her family wanted to follow the tradition of giving birth at home.

After seeing a campaign by our partner, the International Rescue Committee, Monowara changed her mind.
