Nothing would stand in the way of Shahed’s education

Shahed’s mother has always tried to get the best possible care for her disabled daughter, even after they fled Syria.

Today, thanks to her mother, not only is Shahed learning, but she is also a much happier child.

Shahed’s mother enrolled her children in the EU-funded SHIELD programme. It provides refugees and vulnerable Lebanese children with educational opportunities and psycho-social support.

In the past year, SHIELD has included more than 150 participants with disabilities, both children and caregivers, in their activities.

The SHIELD programme is implemented by War Child in Lebanon, Plan International, The Lebanese Organisation for Studies and Training, Akkar Network for Development.
