Since November 2020, the ongoing conflict in northern Ethiopia has resulted in more than 2 million people being internally displaced, and more than 70,000 seeking refuge in neighbouring Sudan.
All those who have witnessed violence, especially children, carry the trauma of conflict with them as they try to rebuild their lives.
With EU funding, our humanitarian partner, the International Rescue Committee (IRC), is establishing safe spaces in the camps in Sudan hosting Ethiopian refugees.
Refugee children are receiving help to overcome their trauma and, even for a short time, forget their worries.
