Planning financial decisions

The European Commission's Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection department ECHO grants funding to humanitarian actions if previously the European Commission has adopted a financing decision on a particular region, humanitarian crisis, beneficiaries, objectives, type of activities, available funds or potential partners for ECHO'S humanitarian aid assistance among other details. These criteria need to be met before funding is allocated.

ECHO's financing decisions are made after assessing whether humanitarian needs on the ground are reliably reflected in an action's proposal. Decisions also take into account the response capacity of ECHO's partners, benefiting therefore from their own input in the process.

The table below lists the meetings ECHO has planned for the preparation of future financing decisions, in case there no meetings planned the column "Additional comments" will indicate the date on which ECHO intends to finalise the adoption process.

Emergency decisions are not (primary) on the table due to the strict timing constraints for the adoption of such decisions, nor for those ad hoc decisions that cannot be planned beforehand.

A partners' contribution, written or orally, to a meeting is also welcomed however the only document ECHO accepts to decide on the funding or refusal is the Single Form.

The Single Form is not replaceable with any other document, like a written contribution from a partner. The starting date of an action is on affected or influenced by the submission of a written contribution.
