CLIMATE CONNECT 2022

Let’s raise awareness about the effects of climate change!

Every year, millions of people have to flee the consequences of climate change.

The EU supports those most affected by climate change and the forced displacement it entails. But to meet global challenges of this size, we must work together.

MEET THE ACTIVISTS

How does it feel to experience climate disasters like floods or cyclones first-hand? These young activists shared their answers, feelings and thoughts. Learn about their community work and what you can do to help.

CONTENT FOR SCHOOLS

We invite schools across Europe to join the #climateconnect campaign and spark a conversation in classrooms. Students will have the opportunity to share their thoughts and ideas about climate caused displacement and create their own content for the social gallery.

In our toolkit, you will find good ideas for activities, from writing a manifesto to organising a hackathon. Thanks to its user-friendly format, the toolkit can be seamlessly integrated into lessons.

Links to the website and a chatbot, which allows students to have a conversation with the young climate activist Karen from the Dominican Republic, offer further exploration of the issue.

ABOUT THE CAMPAIGN

Climate change is here. And while we are aware of its future consequences – do we really understand how it is already affecting communities around the globe?

The EU, one of the world’s largest humanitarian donors, is working to support the people who are most vulnerable to its devastating effects and who have been forced to flee their homes, even if only temporarily. Now, we invite the next generation to connect with each other.

Start the conversation and raise awareness about the effects of climate change on human displacement.

Inform young Europeans from 16 to 24 years old about climate effects that are already happening.

Educate about measures that can be taken and how the EU supports those affected.

Connect European and global youth to share experiences on the effects of climate change.
