The project aims to evaluate and compare existing remote visual systems and detector networks devoted to monitor wooded areas and to evaluate the possibility of exploiting the obtained information for simulating fire propagation behaviour shall be evaluated. Furthermore, cooperation in spreading and sharing best practices in reducing or combating forest fires shall be promoted.
The project may result in the adoption of the most suitable surveillance technologies as common and shared good practices at EU level. Furthermore, the comparison of the systems can lead to the development of an optimized surveillance system, a common methodology and guidelines.
