Commissioner Lenarčič in the United States to discuss disaster risk prevention and preparedness

Commissioner for Crisis Management, Janez Lenarčič, is in the United States today and tomorrow.

The visit coincides with the midterm review of the implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030 in New York, an opportunity to further strengthen international cooperation on disaster risk reduction.

During his first stop in Washington DC, the Commissioner is meeting with World Bank Managing Director for Operations, Anna Bjerde; US Department of State Under Secretary, Uzra Zeya; and the White House’s Deputy National Security Advisor, Jonathan Finer.
