As Europe is preparing for the approaching wildfire season, the EU is taking significant steps to bolster firefighting efforts and safeguard communities, by pre-positioning firefighters and assembling a fleet of firefighting aircraft.

We strongly condemn the indiscriminate attacks from both sides, including on the Babiker Nahar Paediatric Hospital. We are extremely concerned about the lack of medical supplies and medicines at Al Fasher South Hospital, which is the only functioning hospital in the entire state.

The emergency funding allocated by the EU will support humanitarian partners in addressing needs related to water, hygiene, sanitation and health, both at institutional and community levels, while strengthening the coordination of the cholera response in targeted areas.

The funding will be channelled exclusively through the EU's humanitarian partners, including UN agencies and NGOs actively involved in the response, supporting vulnerable communities affected by Yemen's decade-long conflict, displacement, and climate emergencies.

As the recent spike in gang violence is making even more critical the humanitarian situation in Haiti, the European Union launched a new Humanitarian Air Bridge to provide essential supplies to the country’s population. A total of 5 flights have arrived to Cap Haïtien, in the north of the country.
