Convened by the EU, the United Nations and the African Union, as well as Egypt, Qatar and Saudi Arabia, the event will take place in the margins of the UN General Assembly (UNGA) will focus on supporting the humanitarian response to Sudan and the region.
The funding will be channelled through EU humanitarian partners active in the country, enabling them to strengthen assistance with a focus on shelter; health; food; water, sanitation and hygiene; and protection.
The EU continues to support the delivery of humanitarian assistance to Libya through the EU Civil Protection Mechanism.
Following yesterday's request for international assistance by the Permanent Mission of the State of Libya to the United Nations office in Geneva, the EU Civil Protection Mechanism has been activated to support Libya in the aftermath of the major flood that has left thousands of casualties.
