Description

The new Knowledge for Action in Prevention and Preparedness (KAPP) call for proposals brings together into one place EU Civil Protection Mechanism funding for disaster prevention and preparedness, and full-scale field exercises.

The prevention topic includes 4 priorities:

  1. Risk assessments, anticipation and risk management planning
  2. Risk awareness
  3. Early warning
  4. Wildfire risk management

The preparedness topic includes 2 priorities:

  1. Institutional preparedness
  2. Individual capacity strengthening

All topics and priorities are aligned with the EU Disaster Resilience Goals.

KAPP will fund activities in EU Member States and participating states in the EU Civil Protection Mechanism as well as neighbouring countries. It supports actions on disaster prevention and preparedness and provides a testing environment and learning opportunity through full-scale field exercises. The activities will also contribute to the implementation of the Union Disaster Resilience Goals.

Project proposals can be submitted as of 1 February through the Funding & tender opportunities portal of the European Commission, until 25 April 2024 17:00 Brussels time.

DG ECHO organised an online information session on 15 February 2024. The recording of the event is available here. More information on the KAPP call for proposals is also available here.
