Autonomous Underwater Vehicles Ready for Preparedness of Oil Spills (URready4OS)

Aims to produce a White Paper containing detailed guidance and protocols for rapid deployment and operation of a multivehicle collaborative fleet of Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs) to track underwater oil spills.

The project 2-year project will train a fleet of 3 AUVs, 2 Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) and 3 Unmanned Surface Vehicles (USVs) operating simultaneously and communicating through different gateways to identify weak points in protocols and software developed for multivehicle collaborative navigation in order to improve their efficiency. The experiment will be crucial to establish guidelines to define the Concept of Operations (ConsOps) to deploy robotic assets for oil spill preparedness.
