The project aims to promote participatory capacity building processes for flood mitigation at local level. It focuses on social and civic capacities, seeking to better understand how these resilient capacities operate to mitigate flood effects, how they could be participatory built at community level, and how these participatory capacity building processes could be transferred to other urban areas.
Within this frame the project pursues to:
- design two consistent tools to assess and develop social and civic capacities;
- apply these tools in 5 pilot urban case studies in order to identify good practices and illuminate how these capacities could be built;
- disseminate the results through a Guideline on social and civic capacity building
