Dr Taher came under attack in northern Syria 3 times.
“Although the airstrike hadn’t finished and planes were still in the air, we took the children into the operating room so that we could save their lives,” he said about the third attack on his hospital in Idlib.
Nowadays, Dr Taher works in a hospital that is supported by the International Rescue Committee and EU humanitarian aid.
After a decade of war, doctors like Taher continue to work under the constant threat of violence.
Attacking hospitals and health care workers is a violation of international humanitarian law.
