The EU has mobilised €3.5 million in funding in 2026 for the safety of humanitarian workers through the Protect Aid Workers initiative. It provides protection measures, post-incident assistance and legal support to humanitarian staff exposed to threats and violence.

Space services support all phases of the disaster management cycle, from preparedness and prevention with forecasts and early warnings to mapping in support of emergency response and recovery assessments after the disasters.

Ireland is a strong partner on humanitarian aid, consistently supporting needs-based, principled EU action, and has a long-standing record of commitment to multilateralism and to the most vulnerable.
