Civil Protection: EU outlines Disaster Resilience Goals

Today, the European Commission adopted a Recommendation and a Communication to establish common goals to boost disaster resilience in the areas of civil protection. This includes ways to better prepare European countries for natural hazards, including earthquakes, floods, and wildfires.

What we do

Civil Protection

Civil protection assistance consists of governmental aid delivered in preparation for or immediate aftermath of a disaster in Europe and worldwide.

Humanitarian Aid

The EU provides needs-based humanitarian assistance to the people hit by human-induced disasters and natural hazards with particular attention to the most vulnerable victims.

About us

Whenever there is a disaster or humanitarian emergency, the EU provides assistance for the affected countries and populations.

The current climate and environmental crisis calls upon a new self-directed approach for the EU to reduce its environmental footprint, including within humanitarian action.

Channeling aid donations to Ukrainians

The European Commission has set up an operational system to channel in-kind donations from third countries and the private sector to Ukraine, Moldova, and neighbouring EU countries.
