Wildfires: EU doubles rescEU firefighting fleet for summer 2023

Following up on President von der Leyen’s State of the Union speech in September last year, Commissioner for Crisis Management Janez Lenarčič announced today the doubling of the rescEU aerial firefighting fleet for this year’s wildfire season,

Channelling aid donations to Ukrainians

The European Commission has set up an operational system to channel in-kind donations from third countries and the private sector to Ukraine, Moldova, and neighbouring EU countries.



In the humanitarian sector, localisation means empowering local responders in affected countries to lead and deliver humanitarian aid.
