The specific reactions and needs of sensory, physically and mentally disabled people in disaster settings are a known gap in psychosocial and mental health support. There is still a huge gap of knowledge about trauma exposure, psychological reactions and coping mechanisms that are associated with the prevention of posttraumatic stress among impaired individuals. An essential result of the previous EUNAD project was the appeal to extend the target groups to all kind of impairments, to develop training tools for the disabled themselves, to integrate the associations of the disabled in CP programs, to intensify research activities and to offer trainings for professionals working in disaster preparedness and response. EUNAD IP takes up this demands in its work plan
