Poverty, remoteness, insecurity, climate change and COVID-19 make the nutritional crises in the Sahel worse.
In 2021, more than 10 million people needed nutritional humanitarian assistance in West and Central Africa.
To face this emergency, the EU and UNICEF delivered medical care, trained health workers, sensitised breastfeeding women, screened millions of children, among other actions.
